In 2010 I started my catering business working from my new kitchen. I had worked in the IT industry for 25+ years. Cooking has been my hobby and passion from a teenager. In 2003 I took the plunge and enrolled in the City and Guilds Diploma in Professional Catering, at Thames Valley University, from which I graduated in 2005.
I was lucky enough to experience the heat and excitement of the kitchens at Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons. This seeded the idea of TheLateChef.
“Buy local, cook local, eat local”
is what I do, create quality dishes from seasonal and local ingredients. I developed my business website ( www.thelatechef.com ) and the branding to represent the local and personal touch of the business. I had some coverage in the Oxford Times and was asked to go into the BBC Oxford studios to be interviewed by Jo Thoenes.
I offer a range of services which include:-
Business Catering – clients include Oxford University Boat Club, Aston Martin Owners Club, BBC, PDF Ltd, Tayl;or Wimpey and others
Private Catering – dinner parties, birthdays, anniversaries etc
Local Markets & farm shops – Wolvercote, East Oxford, South South Stoke Community Shop, Wheatley Farm Shop and others
Teaching – at my kitchen and at the WI Cookery School
Food Festivals – including the Wallingford Food Festival, Oxford Foodies Festival and others
Media work including – BBC Local Radio and HC and OX Magazines
I have been amazed and heartened by the reaction of my clients. This above all drives my passion for food.
